Something Sensitive : Racial Issues

Honestly, I am so much against RACISM. I hate racists. They deserve to die. Seriously deserve to die. Let me begin.

I come from a multiracial family. This means, I have Malay, Chinese, Iban, Bidayuh, Melanau and so forth relatives. We have even got families in Norway! (Hello, Mowes!) One of my Norweigen cousins are even married to a Jew!

So, who am I to be a racist? I respect them if they respect me. I want to learn their culture beause when they were here, they were willing to learn mine... What exactly is a racist? Well, a racist is a person who discriminate other races other than their own race. They don't go outside their own circle of races. They remain within the walls of their circle.

That is very unhealthy.

I remember when I was in school, I was discriminated because I wasn't MALAY enough. What the hell? Why was I being looked down on just because I wasn't Malay enough? Or the fact, I wasn't able to speak Chinese? Is it fair for us? Those half-breeds?

But, I know why people looked down on the Malays.

My answer is simple. The Malays are actually rather selfish. They think that just because the priority of the country goes to them from the government, yet they behave as if they are dominant. I cannot stand it. They are using their priorities as something as an advantage. Why can't they be humble? One thing about the Malays that I hate most is, they like to fight among themselves. They like having wars among themselves.

And when I think about it... they fight over STUPID PATTY things. Seriously childish things. They are the people whom the government give priority to, yet they are the ones going AGAINST the government.

I sound anti-Malay, huh? I am not. I am a Malay but I am not very proud of it. The Malays are the ones causing a lot of problems to our country. They want to claim that they are not racist. They are the most racist of all the racial groups.

They go overseas to study. They don't hang out with other races but their own. Do you think you could IMPROVE your ENGLISH by doing that? They come back sounding as Malay as ever. So? Does that prove enough that the Malays are always within their own circle?

It makes me wonder, what is wrong in learning other people's culture? It is not like they won't respect you if you show them some respect... Sometimes, they fear that. They fear that people won't respect them. The situation is easy. You should show people respect in order to gain respect from them.

Some Malays also aren't open-minded enough to accept other religious views. Hey, I am a Malay and I have seen what is written in the bible. I've been to the Vatican City. I've been to a church service.

Did you know language can also be a racial issue? I HATE IT MOST WHEN SOMEONE SAYS, "Aiegh, speaking egh!" ("Whoa, speaking in English!") Look, what is wrong in speaking in another language other than your own? It is NOT wrong to learn other languages. It is NOT a sin. Where in the Holy Book says it is?

I think I should stop. I fear some NARROW-MINDED people might feel offended by this entry. Hey, if you've bit the chili, you deserve it. STOP BEING A RACIST!
